Private Treaty Sales

PAX's Founder, Ms Emily Pettit, has almost two decades’ experience acting on behalf of private collectors, institutions and funds, to facilitate private treaty purchases and sales on a commission basis and provide valuations for sales and insurance purposes. We also regularly undertake commissions ranging from family and institutional portrait commissions to monumental sculpture to site-specific residential installations by the world’s leading artists alongside younger talent. We have project managed art creation in China, notably for Marc Quinn on the occasion of his inaugural museum exhibition we brought to CAFA Museum, Beijing in 2019, and latterly on behalf of Not Vital for his exhibition we brought to The Fosun Art Center, Shanghai in 2021.

Emily has placed works in important private and institutional collections worldwide, the latter ranging from The British Museum, London, to The Central Academy of Fine Art Museum, Beijing, to The National Gallery of Victoria, Australia.

Whilst Emily specializes in the finest Chinese contemporary artists such as Liu Dan, Zeng Fanzhi and Zhang Xiaogang and Chinese émigré artists to Europe during the 20th century, notably Sanyu, Zao Wou-Ki and Chu Teh-Chun, through our exhibition programme she has placed works by:- Tony Cragg; Sir Antony Gormley; Yayoi Kusama; Amedeo Modigliani; Marc Quinn and has placed further, Impressionist, Modern and post-war works encompassing Edgar Degas, Henri Matisse, Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, Gerhard Richter and Lee Ufan.
